The project
objective is, through the capacity improvement of Literacy
Department of Ministry of Education and literacy supervisors
in target areas, to provide quality literacy education
in Afghanistan effectively. The detail is shown in the
table below.
The target areas of the Project are Kabul City, Kabul
Province, Bamian Province, and Balkh Province. |

WHAT
is LEAF?
LEAF stands for “Literacy Education in Afghanistan”.
LEAF project is a JICA’s Project.
JICA - Japan International Cooperation Agencyis a governmental
organization to implement technical cooperation.
JICA re-started its support for Afghanistan in 2003. JICA
is currently implementing two other projects in Education
sector.
